The incidence of chronic lifestyle disease continues to rise globally even though medical advances are being made at a rapid pace. The highest occurrences of Type II Diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease are observed in minority communities. It has been my first-hand observation within my own family, that chronic lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and lifestyle-influenced diseases, such as cancer, and Alzheimer’s inevitably lead to impaired quality of life, physiological function, and death. In 2020, I lost my father, uncle, and aunt because of complications of Type 2 Diabetes and hypertension. Last year I lost my mother to Alzheimer’s disease.
My hope is that this information empowers you to ask questions of your healthcare providers and challenge them to apply the solutions that work for you without the harmful side-effects of the usual pharmaceutical treatments.
There is research out there that has discovered what to do to help reverse this trend without drugs that have harmful side effects. This site is dedicated to giving clear concise information about that evidence. I chose the name Underserved Health because my goal is to use this website to provide little known and underutilized solutions to the underserved minority community first and to every underserved community at large.
